Grow and protect your backlinks
Track competitor links, turn unlinked brand mentions into links, find prospects, watch links at risk, and run outreach — all from one place.
Backlinks are still one of the strongest signals of authority, and they need active management: earn new ones, recover the ones you're about to lose, and keep an eye on competitors. This guide walks the whole loop — see your links, find where to earn more, and run the outreach to close them.
What you'll need
- A connected, verified site.
- Backlinks is a paid feature — see Plan availability below.
Add backlinks
Open Backlinks in the sidebar. The All links tab shows the links pointing at your site, with the referring page, anchor text, and authority. New links you know about can be added so your profile stays complete, and you'll see gains and losses over time as the profile is refreshed.
Track a competitor's links
On the Competitors tab, add a competitor to compare link profiles side by side. This surfaces the link gap — domains that link to them but not to you. Those domains already link out in your space, which makes them some of your best prospects.
Track brand mentions
The Brand mentions tab finds places that mention your brand in their content but don't link to you. These are the easiest links to earn — the site already knows who you are, so a short, friendly ask to turn the mention into a link often works.
Find prospects
The Find prospects tab surfaces sites worth pitching for a link, ranked by relevance and authority, drawing on your competitors' links and your topic. Shortlist the ones that fit and move them into outreach.
Watch links at risk
The At risk tab flags links you've already earned that are now in danger — for example the linking page was removed, changed, or the link turned nofollow. Acting quickly here is often easier than earning a brand-new link: a quick note to the site can restore it.
Run outreach
The Outreach tab turns your prospects and at-risk links into a pitch list you can work through. Track who you've contacted and where each conversation stands, so nothing falls through the cracks.
How outreach email is sent
When you send outreach email, it goes through your own connected mailbox, so replies come back to you directly. Keep your pitches short, specific, and genuinely useful to the person you're asking.
Plan availability
Backlinks — including competitor tracking, brand mentions, prospecting, at-risk monitoring, and outreach — is available on paid plans. Refreshing link data and prospecting draw on your plan's allowance; see Plans & credits.
FAQs
Where does link data come from? From SearchChamp's link index, refreshed on a schedule. Newly earned links can take time to appear as the web is re-crawled.
What's the fastest way to earn links? Start with Brand mentions (turn existing mentions into links) and At risk (recover links you're about to lose) — both are usually easier than cold prospecting.
How is outreach email sent? Through your own connected mailbox, so replies reach you directly.
