Local grid rank tracking
Local grid tracks how your rankings change across a map of points around a location — the way a nearby searcher actually sees them. Coming soon.
Coming soon
Local grid rank tracking is not yet available. This page explains what it will do so you can plan for it — there are no steps to follow today. When it's enabled, this article will be updated with the full setup flow.
Search results for local queries change depending on where the searcher is standing. "coffee shop near me" returns a different ranking on one side of a city than the other. A single national rank number hides that. Local grid rank tracking will measure your position across a grid of points around a location, so you can see your real local visibility as a map instead of one number.
What it will do
- Map your rankings across a grid of points around a business location, so you can see where you're strong and where you're invisible.
- Track change over time at each point, not just an average — so you can tell whether a fix moved the needle in the areas that matter.
- Compare locations if you serve more than one area.
Who it's for
Local grid is aimed at businesses whose rankings genuinely vary by location — local services, multi-location brands, and anyone whose buyers search "near me". If your business isn't location-dependent, standard rank tracking and SERP volatility already cover you.
How to get notified
Local grid will roll out on paid plans. To be told when it's live, watch the What's New page. In the meantime, keep your business location and site details up to date in Site settings so setup is quick when it arrives.
